Cave Hill signs MoU with Hyuna International Ltd.

Digital multimedia company Hyuna International Limited and The UWI Cave Hill campus have formalised their ongoing relationship, with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on June 4, 2019.
The signing occurred at the Cave Hill Campus, and was witnessed by senior officials from both entities.
Under the agreement, Hyu
na International will provide coaching, career and social development opportunities for students mainly in the Department of Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics, as well as internship and scholarship opportunities. In addition, the company plans to share knowledge from industry professionals through guest lectures and educational materials and resources. There are also plans to host an annual Hyuna careers showcase.
“The relationship between Hyuna and UWI began two years ago and now with the signing of this memorandum, we endeavor to work together more closely to help the dreams of students take shape . . .,” said Julie Turney, Human Resources Manager and Talent Scout at Hyuna International Ltd. “We envisage that this continued collaboration will help stimulate innovation in programming, quality engineering, and web development including the application of new and advanced technologies.”
Pro Vice-Chancellor and Principal at The UWI Cave Hill, Professor Eudine Barriteau, welcomed the collaboration with Hyuna, adding that it deepened the University’s relationship with industry partners that can assist with the Smart Campus initiative.
Barriteau also issued a call to private sector partners to assist the campus with the upgrades to the Faculty of Science and Technology.
“We wish to make available to our students and faculty a state-of-the art science and technology complex that is befitting 21st Century operations and expectations. Much of what they currently occupy is nearly half a century old and it is showing an urgent need of renewal. I am happy to invite our industry stakeholders to partner with us in this quest.”
